Haida Lodge Values

Freemasons believe that the Golden Rule is pivotal in the behaviour of its members.

Do unto other as you would have them do unto you.

Our members are interested in the person, and not his religion or his political beliefs. The Brotherhood of Man under the Fatherhood of God is what we continue to believe. Our love is for all humans with no bias on the colour of a man’s skin, or the culture from which he comes. Freemasons are interested in what the man thinks and the good he does in society.

The Golden Rule is found in many of the religions of the world — all religions have the same thoughts.

Buddhism
Hurt not others in ways that you yourself would find hurtful.

Confucianism
Do not do to others what you do not want done to yourself. Then there will be resentment against you, either in the family or in the state.

Islam
No one of you is a believer until you desire for his brother (others) that which he desires for himself.

Judaism
What is hateful to you, do not do to your neighbour.

Taoism
Regard your neighbour’s gain as your gain, and you neighbour’s loss as your own loss.

Zoroastrianism
That nature alone is good which refrains from doing another whatsoever is not good for itself

All encompass Good Conduct, and that is what we strive for in our members.
